Jim Ogden Honored by Building Trades and City

On Friday, August 11, the Tippecanoe Building Trades honored their president Jim Ogden for his many years of service to the organization and to the community. Incoming president Stephen Snyder presented Ogden with a plaque containing the following inscription:

Presented to Jim Ogden

In appreciation of your many years of dedicated service in helping to improve the lives of working people. Your unwavering commitment to the Tippecanoe Building Trades has set a new standard. You truly have raised the bar.

Ogden served for the past four years as the organization's president and 16 years as a member. He also serves as the business manager for the IBEW Local 668, a position he has held for 16 years. In this capacity Ogden spearheaded many of the organization's philanthropic and community action projects. He was also one of the founders of the Real JourneymanTM project as a modernized means of promoting the skilled trades.

Mayor Tony Roswarski was also on hand to present Jim Ogden with a distinguished citizen's award for his many years of service to Greater Lafayette. “From having our wonderful holiday lighting downtown every year, to the many other pro-Bono electrical tasks performed for local charitable organizations, Jim Ogden was always at the center of it.”, said the mayor as he presented this award from the city of Lafayette.
